How to get to Salaverry's Port?

Salaverry is a beach, fishing and international shipping port located 13km southwest Trujillo City and 22 km away from Huanchaco beach. Its one of the shipping ports with more activity in the coast of Peru and one of the most important. Would you like to visit this place?; Here we teach you how.


How can I get to Salaverry from Trujillo?


 1. Taxi:
From Trujillo downtown a taxi would be around 15 Soles. The trip takes around 15 minutes. If you are around the main square it would take around 20 minutes (depending on the traffic).



2. Colectivo:
What would happen if you wanna go fast but you don't have money for a taxi? In that case you can take colectivos… Colectivo is basically a shared taxi, they have their own terminals, normally the price is double as a bus, and as fast as a taxi, great if you are a solo traveler. From Trujillo to Salaverry port and reversal the price is 3 soles one way, from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. From 10:00 pm to 6:00 am it would be between 3.5 – 5 soles. The trip takes around 20 minutes. The colectivos terminal in Trujillo is in Sinchi Rocca Av. #420, 6 blocks away from Trujillo’s main square. These colectivos will drop you off at La Libertad st. In Salaverry Port. The colectivos are dark green and look like this:






3. Van:
If you are traveling in a group of more than 5 people, an you wanna go safe and fast, you might need a Van. The price depends on the pick up location, and the cost is around 80 soles round way

4. Bus (micro-bus):

The other way to get to Salaverry Port, if you wanna have a local adventure, is taking the local bus.
In here, you will hear phrases like:

The price is 1.5 soles per person, and the trip takes around 35 minutes. The local buses from Salaverry are white with blue and yellow lines, but we also have blue buses with graffiti of the sun and waves.

Salaverry Express, the local bus company has 3 routes: A-C-F.

In this case, we recommend to avoid the route C, this could be chaotic and goes by the universities and Moche district which makes the trip longer. How can I get to Salaverry from Huanchaco?

If you are staying in Huanchaco beach, the best way to get to Salaverry would be by Taxi or Van. The colectivos opcion could be optional, but there isn't a proper colectivo company from Huanchaco to Trujillo; However, you can mix the options that you have. If you wanna move around by local buses, take any from Huanchaco to Trujillo and then choose between routes A or F from Salaverry Express.



1. Taxi:
A taxi from Huanchaco to Salaverry would cost around 30 soles. If you go by the panamericana highway, you can avoid the traffic in the city and get faster to the Beach-Port. The time depends on the traffic but usually it takes around 30 minutes.




2. Van:
Taking a Van is the best option for groups, they can pick you up wherever you want and its a fast and a save service. The price for 7 people would be around 90 soles round way. Feel free to contact us if you need this service.




Salaverry

Salaverry is a place where around 15000 people live, in general, everyone knows each other and they can provide exact information about addresses, also, as an small town, people take care of each other and delinquency is not a big problem. We recommend anyone coming to Salaverry to drop off at the main square of the town, from there its easy to get anywhere.
